The 'Neptune' is a replica of a Spanish galleon. It was constructed for Roman Polanski's film "Pirates" (1986) and is intended to be an authentic three-master of large dimensions. It has a length of 62 meters and a width of 16 meters. It is able to sail on the high seas and to achieve a speed of about 5 knots. The ship was built in Tunesia within 2 years (costs: 8,2 million dollars). Today it lies in the harbor of Genoa in Italy.
